Food Truck Finder is built to help people find trucks and help owners publish schedules. This page describes what we collect and why. Last updated July 21, 2026.
Who we are

What we collect
Browsing without an account
You can use the map without signing in. If you allow location access, your browser may share your approximate position with the app so we can search for nearby trucks. That pin lives in your session on the device; we do not require an account to browse.
Accounts (magic link)
If you sign in, we collect your email address to send a one-time magic link and keep you signed in. We also store a profile with a display name (often derived from your email) and a role such as eater or owner.
Truck owner content
Owners may publish truck details (name, slogan, description, cuisine tags), menus, scheduled appearances, and live check-ins. Live check-ins and scheduled spots include location coordinates and optional place names. Content you publish is visible to anyone using the app.
Technical data
We use session cookies (and similar storage) so authentication works across pages. Our hosting and database providers may process standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, and request timing for security and reliability.
How we use it
- Show nearby trucks and public schedules on the map
- Authenticate owners and let them manage trucks, menus, and appearances
- Operate, secure, and improve the service
- Respond when you contact us
We do not sell your personal information. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on the site today.
Services we rely on
- Supabase — authentication, database, and realtime updates (including email delivery for magic links)
- Google Maps — map display and place search; Google may process location-related requests under its own terms and privacy policy
- Hosting infrastructure that serves the website
What stays public
Truck profiles, menus, and published appearances (including locations and times) are meant to be public so eaters can find you. Do not put private phone numbers, home addresses, or other sensitive details in fields that appear on the public map or truck page.
Retention and your choices
Account and truck data stay until you delete them or ask us to remove them. You can stop sharing your device location anytime in browser settings. To correct account details, remove owner content, or delete your account, email hello@foodtruckfinder.io.
Children
Food Truck Finder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
